I find this hilarious, mainly because modern auditors achieve this exact state of spiritual surrender at their desks for free every Tuesday at 2:14 PM.
We call it: The Blue Spinning Wheel of Death.
You know the moment intimately. You try to paste a moderately heavy dataset, a completely standard, unspectacular General Ledger dump into a grid. Suddenly, the window washes out in a pale, translucent glaze. Your laptop's cooling fan roars to life, sounding less like a computer and more like a Boeing 747 preparing for takeoff. And there, in the middle of your screen, a tiny blue wheel begins to spin.
